This team terrifies me. I'm afraid all the finishing and skill that characterized the Caps of the last decade and a half has been lost due to old age, kinda all at once.
Maybe Osh is now a 3rd liner that shouldn't be playing on the top PP unit. Less of Oshie may not be the end of the world. That does leave a gap in the top six for a winger who can score like Oshie used to. Is Patches the answer? I guess we'll have to wait to find out, no?
I think he'll get a crack at top-6 minutes, for sure. For me, anything they get from Patches is a bonus, and I'm glad they have time to evaluate before the trade deadline.

Might be part of it, but some of these things can't stay this bad for the whole season. Famous last words, but Ovi is shooting like 2%...
Ovi's shooting percentage will change, agreed, but no Backy, No Kuzy (he's there but, you know, not), less Oshie... I'm officially worried.
(oddly Carlson still seems as good as ever FWIW)
I'm with you. There are plenty of reasons to suggest that bad/mediocre days are ahead, and it could even start this season.
